In 1961, D. Alfonso Garcia Lopez install a fish cannery and seafood, thus initiating the activity of what is now a major industrial complex and giving life to the brand PESCAMAR. In the year 1967 increased from Burgo in Pontevedra, the Poio municipality in the province of Pontevedra, located in the area of the Galician Rías, where he purchased some of the raw materials that transforms.

PESCAMAR growth has been steady. In the year 1967 had 1,500 m2 in just two years, double the surface. In a third stage reaches the 8,500 m2 and today has 15,000 m2. From its beginnings to the present industrial complex has expanded and renewed every year, becoming a modern corporate structure, present throughout the national territory and in over 35 countries worldwide.
