Nor-Fishing, Even Better In 2012
(NORWAY, 5/4/2012)
When the fishing industry gathers for Nor-Fishing on 14 to 17 August, they will find an improved exhibition concept.
The organisers have gone through the responses from exhibitors and visitors in an evaluation of Nor-Fishing 2010.
The information that has emerged from the market research suggests that participants are very satisfied with the trade fair as a whole, but are looking for improvement in some areas. Even after visitor records and thousands of satisfied exhibitors and visitors, the organisers have decided to continue and develop Nor-Fishing further. Signage is one of the areas to be improved this year.

“We take feedback very seriously and are working to make the fair even more transparent this year. The feedback indicates that Trondheim Spektrum may be difficult for some people to negotiate during major events. For this reason, we will set up several information displays and improve the signs significantly,” says Kari Steinsbø, project manager of the Nor-Fishing Foundation.
A cafe reserved for exhibitors will be located in Hall E and provide both higher throughput of visitors in the hall and an exclusive and efficient café for exhibitors and their guests. At the same time, several refreshment trolleys will be constantly moving around in all the halls.

“The trolleys will offer drinks, sandwiches, baguettes and snacks. When we were designing this service, uppermost in our thoughts were people who are alone at their stand and cannot move far from their base. But most stands have pretty hectic days and many would like to avoid queuing – so this is a service that may be attractive to many. The trolleys together with the exhibitor cafe will ensure that exhibitors spend a lot less of their time queuing,” explains Steinsbø.
In addition, the usual restaurant will have expanded capacity at the same time as the outdoor tables will continue.
Nor-Fishing has taken many steps to improve the offer for the exhibitors’ liking, while ensuring that the basic concept and essence of the fair are preserved.
“The market survey also told us that exhibitors share our view that Nor-Fishing is an important meeting place for the industry, and we like the expression “The good place to meet” very much. The reception on the first day, with the award of the innovation prize, will be the most important social event we hold this year. The feedback indicates that exhibitors have enough to do during the exhibition period and that they can look after their social interaction themselves. The opening evening, however, has become an important meeting venue and starts right after the fair ends on the first day – letting people get to other commitments as soon as possible.” Steinsbø explains.

There will be no lack of social gatherings under the exhibition. Nor-Fishing is collaborating with numerous external organizers, and the result is a number of events and gatherings throughout Trondheim.
