First Workshop on Marine & Continental Aquaculture

The Turbot Farmers Association of Galicia (AROGA) is organising the first Workshop on Marine and Continental Aquaculture in collaboration with APROMAR and the Galician Aquaculture Cluster. Held alongside Aqua Farming International at the IFEVI Exhibition Centre on 18 September, this first Workshop of Marine & Continental Aquaculture will bring together industry stakeholders and will be split into two parallel sessions: one dealing with parasitology, biotechnology, nutrition and genetics, the second looking at continental aquaculture, social and economic aspects, and company management.

The workshop offers good networking opportunities and the participants are given an opportunity to give presentations. It will gather representatives from companies and industries, universities and research organisations such as Manuel Leiro, Doctor of Biology and professor of Parasitology from the University of Santiago de Compostela; Francisco Rodríguez, Doctor of Biology, professor of Research and Director of the Molecular Biology Area of the Spanish National Center of Biotechnology; Santiago Cabaleiro Martínez, Doctor of Chemistry and Director of CETGA (Aquaculture Technology Centre of Galicia); Paulino Martínez, Doctor of Biology and professor of Genetics from the College of Veterinary Medicine of Lugo; Francisco Javier Sanz Ronda, Forestry Engineer from the Forestry Engineering Organisation of Palencia and professor of Aquaculture and Fluvial Management; Rosa Chapela Pérez, Doctor of Law and coordinator of the Socioeconomic Fisheries Development Department of the CETMAR Technology Centre as well as Fernando González Laxe, professor of Applied Economics from the University of A Coruña and President of the State Ports Authority.
