These agreements allow for Spanish fishing vessels to continue fishing within the waters of the three countries.
"The renewal of the protocols promoted by the Spanish Presidency over the past three months, which is valid for the next three years, is especially important for tuna freezing fleets, both in the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic, due to the geographical location of the three countries," said the official press release.
The fishing agreement between the EU and the Comoros will come into effect from 1 January 2011 and will permit 45 tuna freezing vessels and 25 longline vessels to fish in their waters.
Meanwhile, the new agreement signed with the Seychelles will be inforced from 17 January of next year. This protocol will allow the operation of 60 Community ships: 48 tuna freezers and 12 longliner ships.
Finally, the agreement with Sao Tome and Principe could possibly take effect in late 2010 and will benefit 40 ships: 28 tuna freezers and 12 longliners.
