The first issue of Northern Seafood, a brand new English language magazine which focuses on seafood from the Nordic countries, is being published in connection with the 2012 European Seafood Exposition (ESE).

This magazine covers topics such as why the region’s fish and shellfish are among the most sought after in the world, the great variety of species that roam Nordic waters and different uses of seafood from the region.

Northern Seafood’s target group includes buyers and decision-makers at importers as well as distributors of seafood across the globe.

Its main objective for the seafood industry is to provide information about “the fine high-quality seafood from Northern Europe,” farmed or wild, to importers, processors, restaurateurs, purchasing manager, chefs and others associated with the seafood industry. It will focus on companies, species and quotas, as well as significant matters like sustainability and the end-user market, Editor-in-Chief Edmund Mongstad wrote in his editorial.

Its publishing firm, Findexa Forlag AS will be printing 8,000 copies. The magazine will then be distributed at the largest seafood fairs in the world both at stands and to the visitors and will also be accessible online.

Northern Seafood was designed to be a high-quality, glossy magazine. Its publisher will work together with the Northern European seafood industry to raise awareness of the market and support seafood from the Nordic countries.

Findexa Forlag was founded in 2005 and in 2008, its total circulation was of 5,700,000 copies. One of the publications of the group is the magazine Kystmagasinet, published in Norwegian.

The publishing group has a total turnover of roughly NOK 85 million (EUR 11.2 million).

Findexa Forlag has offices in Oslo, Bergen and Uddevalla.
