Caixanova is a bank which arose from a merger between Caixavigo (founded in 1880), Caixa Ourense (1932) and Caixa de Pontevedra (1930) which took place between 1999 and 2000. Together with the Banco Gallego, who own 50% of Caixanova capital stock, the leading financial institution in Galicia made up of a savings bank and a regular bank, with a business volume of around 50,000 million euros.
As of the 30th of June 2009, the bank employs a staff of 3,294 people, an increase of 3.72% with respect to the previous year.
