The New Zealand King Salmon Company Limited was formed in 1996 with the privatisation and merger of New Zealand’s two largest salmon companies, Southern Ocean Seafood Ltd and Regal Salmon Ltd. The Company is ultimately owned by the Tiong Group, one of the largest private companies in Malaysia with substantial global investments in forestry, property and the media.
The New Zealand King Salmon Co Ltd is a dedicated leader in the world’s commercial salmon farming industry. The Tiong Group investment brings to salmon aquaculture governance, a total commitment to and support of its sustainability and viability as a renewable resource. The company currently operates five seacage sites, all located in the remote, clean waters of the Marlborough Sounds. The company also owns two hatcheries for smolt rearing and 4 purpose built processing facilities in Nelson.
The company Head Office in Nelson manages Administration and Sales & Marketing, while a New Zealand sales office in Auckland manages the New Zealand market.
