It's past 7 am on the 19th. There was a rare auction at the Ishinomaki Fish Market in Ishinomaki City , Miyagi Prefecture . The target is the world's largest crab "Takaashigani". I caught a bottom seine off Kinkazan at a depth of about 200 meters .
With its legs spread, it is a female hawk crab with a width of 2 meters and 75 centimeters and a weight of 10 kilograms.

The big crab is the largest crab in the world. In Japan, it can be caught mainly from the Kanto to the west, but it is extremely rare to get such a size in the prefecture.
This size is even larger than an oversized hair crab.
"Maybe this is the first time in Miyagi. It's the largest crab in the world, and this time it's a normal size of 2 meters and 75 centimeters.

500km to Ishinomaki, how did you get there? Was she shed when she was little and grew up here? Or did you walk along with changes in seawater temperature?" Yoshio Masuda (41), Researcher, Prefectural Fisheries Technology Center from Shizuoka is endlessly interested.
According to the people involved, the portion to eat is small, but in the auction, a fresh fish store in Ishinomaki city bid for 10,000 yen.
The crab has a price of 10,000 yen. (U$D 94)
