The announcement was made by the executive director of the organization, Fernanda Raverta from Mar del Plata, during a meeting in Mar del Plata with the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, unions and port chambers.

The investment will be executed through the Sustainability Guarantee Fund (FGS), within the framework of the implementation of the Anses Strategic Investment Fund.

The main objective of the project is to improve the productive infrastructure and generate more than 9,000 new jobs.

"We are with the Minister of Economy guaranteeing the Strategic Investment Fund from the Sustainability Guarantee Fund to be able to accompany productive projects that generate work, because we consider that rebuilding Argentina is generating work," said Raverta.

“Presenting the Fund with this first project, which is the construction of breakwater No. 9, which causes the productive capacity of the port of Mar del Plata to increase by 33 percent, is very important. It is a work that is going to be carried out for 24 months and it is going to generate work, ”he added.

Guzmán stressed that "the project of the work for the Port will generate more work, more competitiveness, more productivity and it will also enable more generation of foreign exchange, which are all the things that Argentina needs to be able to achieve a calm economy with opportunities ”.

The Strategic Investment Fund was created by Law 27574 with the objective of investing in strategic sectors for the national State to promote job creation as an economic development policy.

The presentation of the project was attended by the executive deputy director of operations of the FGS, Lisandro Cleri, together with provincial and national authorities and more than 50 entrepreneurs from the sector.
